PRINCETON, N.J. -- After becoming the first road team to win the Ivy League Softball Championship Series last season, Princeton defended its home field to win its Ivy-best 19th League crown.  

The Tigers swept Harvard, taking a pair of games at Class of 1895 Field in Princeton, N.J., Saturday, after needing three games to clinch the first of their back-to-back titles in 2016. 

The first game proved to be a pitcher's duel, with Claire Klausner and Kathleen Duncan patrolling the circle for their respective teams and holding the opposing offenses scoreless through six. Klausner held off the Crimson in the top of the seventh, before a seventh-inning walk-off RBI single from Allison Harvey claimed the 1-0 game for the Tigers in the bottom half of the inning. 

Princeton outslugged Harvard in game two—plating 13 runs behind multi-RBI efforts from Kaylee Grant (4), Marissa Reynolds (3) and Keeley Walsh (30) en route to a 13-4 win. In doing so Princeton sealed its 19th Ivy League championship, third ILCS title and 10th NCAA tournament berth. 

The back-to-back Ivy titles and NCAA bids are Princeton's first since 2005 and 2006 and also make head coach Lisa Van Ackeren the third coach in Ivy League history to win two League titles in her first five seasons, joining Princeton predecessors Cindy Cohen and Maureen Barron.

The Tigers will learn their NCAA tournament destination on Sunday, May 14 at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The 64 teams that make the NCAA regionals will head to 16 sites for a double-elimination tournament on May 19-21.
